FEDERICO SILVA: UN ACERCAMIENTO

The Mexican Museum is proud to partner with The Museo Internacional del Barroco in Puebla Mexico, in the celebration of the historic exhibition of the work of Federico Silva.

The exhibition inaugurates OCTOBER 10 @MuseoInternacionaldelBarroco

Federico Silva's work is a sensory journey through contemporary Mexican painting and sculpture. In this exhibition, visitors are invited to explore an intensive vision of the complexity of Silva’s creations, through its creative and reconstructive processes in which forms and materials intertwine in a constant dialogue.

Silva, recognized for his ability to transform natural and industrial elements, presents pieces, some of them unpublished, that in their conception, realization, and in some cases evolution, challenge our perceptions of space and matter. Each work reveals its essence as visitors move around them, generating an intimate and personal bond with the piece.

The exhibition comprises three stages of Silva's career: "Huites", where the artist, in a space of 6,000m2, captures a rock composition that alternates the figures with their abstract forms. "Papel, tijeras y esculturas", in which the interaction between traditional techniques and a primitive digital inclusion is intertwined, yielding amazing results. Finally, "De lo público a lo privado" tells us the praxis of how Federico's career and life managed to generate a common thread that would immortalize him among the academic, artistic community; and his beloved Amaxac, next to María Esther, an intelligent and sensitive woman, with a vision that transformed his creative side, and due to whom today we can enjoy this collection.

Through this selection, the artist invites us to reflect on the relationship between the human being, his society and his environment, questioning the limits of reality and imagination in different senses. The textures, shadows and volumes envelop us, creating an enriching experience that transcends the visual, where each work opens a door to new interpretations.
