Ann R. Roberts Memorial
1934 -2024
TMM dedicates this memorial to the remembrance of key TMM benefactor and former board member, Ann R. Roberts (1934-2024), whose advocacy for Native American and Mexican arts, humanitarian causes, and women’s rights is unmatched and globally recognized. Ann’s considerable contributions to The Mexican Museum began with her generous donation of The Nelson A. Rockefeller Collection of Mexican Folk Art to TMM in the mid-1980s, catapulting TMM to national, even international, visibility, and into a new phase of growth and development. Over the years, Ann’s service as an advisor and capital campaign advocate has ensured that the Museum would successfully achieve its mission “to voice the complexity and richness of Latino art and culture throughout the Americas”. She will be deeply missed.
For more on Ann's important role in TMM's history, see the linked Recuerdos de Ann R. Roberts, written by former TMM Director, David J. de La Torre (1984-89, 2012-2015), as well as her obituary, below.
